Every child deserves the opportunity to thrive. Yet for many children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other developmental disorders in Syria, access to specialized care remains out of reach.
To help change that, a delegation from SAMS recently met with Syria’s Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Hind Kabawat, to advance the long-term sustainability of the SAMS Autism Academy and expand essential services for children and their families across Syria.
Together, they explored plans to strengthen early screening and diagnosis, train more specialized healthcare professionals, empower families, and expand access to behavioral therapy, speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, hearing assessments, and EEG services.
These efforts represent an important step toward building a stronger, more sustainable system of care for children with autism across Syria, but we can’t do it without your support.
Your gift today can help expand specialized autism services, train healthcare providers, and ensure more children receive the care they need to reach their full potential.
