Syria Liberation Day: December 8

December 8 is now officially recognized as Liberation Day in Syria, marking a new chapter in the nation’s history and symbolizing hope, renewal, and resilience. Throughout December, SAMS will recognize Liberation Day by highlighting the critical work still ahead to rebuild and strengthen Syria’s healthcare system.

Syria has endured one of the most devastating humanitarian crises of our time. More than 16.5 million Syrians rely on humanitarian assistance, and roughly half of the country’s hospitals and clinics remain damaged or partially functional.

Syria’s Liberation Day celebrates the courage of the Syrian people and the dedication of SAMS’ medical teams and partners working to rebuild and strengthen Syria’s healthcare system.
