Imagine growing up in silence, never hearing the world around you. This is the reality for many children in Syria living with hearing loss.

Too often, diagnosis comes too late, causing children to miss the critical window for speech, learning, and connection.

Yet behind every hearing assessment and every cochlear implant is a child experiencing the world in a completely new way. Last year alone, SAMS teams completed more than 1,600 hearing assessments and over 80 cochlear implant surgeries, helping children reconnect with sound, speech, and possibility.

One of those children is Firdous.

At the SAMS-supported Termanin Physical Therapy Center, Firdous heard sound for the very first time after her cochlear implant was activated. After months of illness and delayed treatment, a moment her family feared might never come finally became reality.

And with that first sound, a new world opened before her.

There are still countless children like Firdous waiting for the chance to hear, speak, and reconnect with the world around them.

This Dhul Hijjah, your generosity can transform a child’s future, restoring the gift of sound and opening the door to learning, communication, and full potential.
