Severe floods have struck northwest Syria, inundating displacement camps where families were already living in fragile conditions. Thousands have been displaced yet again, and access to healthcare has been severely disrupted as roads and infrastructure remain underwater.
In response, SAMS mobilized immediately to support Al Sahel Specialized Hospital in Khirbet al-Joz, rural Latakia, which has been operating under emergency conditions due to severe electricity rationing. To keep lifesaving services running, our team coordinated directly with hospital leadership and delivered a truckload of diesel fuel, along with essential medical supplies and consumables. All support was coordinated with local authorities to ensure rapid delivery.
To sustain this response, SAMS has launched an emergency appeal to raise $25,000 to support fuel provision, critical medical supplies, and mobile medical services for flood-affected areas, including Kharbet Al-Juzeh. But we cannot do this alone.
Your support will help us:
– Power hospital generators and ambulances
– Replenish essential medical supplies
– Enable mobile medical teams to reach isolated camps
SAMS remains committed to the people of Syria—standing beside healthcare workers and the communities they serve, expanding our response to ensure uninterrupted lifesaving care. Your generosity today will be a source of mercy and healing during this critical time.
