This Dhul Hijjah, mothers continue to face unsafe deliveries, limited access to care, and preventable complications that turn childbirth into fear rather than hope.

Behind every delivery is a newborn fighting for a chance at life. Baby Mustafa was one of them.

Born at just 31 weeks via emergency cesarean section, he was rushed to the NICU at Idlib University Hospital. A ventilator supported his breathing, surfactant therapy helped his underdeveloped lungs, and every heartbeat was closely monitored.

Complications followed, including bleeding that required urgent transfusions. Yet the medical team remained steady, providing round-the-clock care through every setback.

Gradually, Mustafa improved. He was weaned off the ventilator, and by day 9 he was breathing on his own. By day 20, he had moved to the incubator unit—stable and continuing his recovery.

In these blessed days of Dhul Hijjah, your support helps provide safe deliveries, emergency maternal care, neonatal treatment, and trains the next generation of midwives and doctors, so more mothers can give birth safely, and more newborns can survive their first critical days.
