Fulfill Your Zakat This Ramadan and Make a Difference
As we enter the last 10 nights of Ramadan, a sacred time of reflection, compassion, and hope we are reminded of the profound impact that care and understanding can have on those who are suffering.
Across Syria, the mental and emotional toll of prolonged hardship is overwhelming. Survivors of loss, illness, and daily struggle carry invisible wounds of trauma, anxiety, and grief. Many live with uncertainty and fear, bearing heavy burdens often without the support or care that could help them heal.”
Over the past year, SAMS has delivered more than 76,000 mental health and psychosocial support services to individuals and families affected by years of conflict. One story that stands out is that of Raghda. After losing both her husband and son to illness, and while caring for a daughter living with multiple sclerosis, Raghda carried years of grief that deeply affected her health and well-being.
During a SAMS medical mission last year, she received not only medical care, but something equally vital: compassion, understanding, and the chance to heal.
“I always needed someone to understand me, to give me hope and confidence, and that’s exactly what I found,” she shared.
Raghda’s experience reminds us that healthcare is more than medicine. It is about listening, restoring dignity, healing hearts, and helping people move forward.
This Ramadan, your Zakat can help bring healing to minds and hearts across Syria. Together, we can restore health, renew hope, and remind those suffering that they are not alone.
