Executive Director David Lillie visits Damascus, Daraa, and Idlib
Dear Fellow Humanitarian,
This week, SAMS Executive Director David Lillie traveled across Syria to witness our work firsthand — from the bustling head office in Damascus to mobile clinics in Daraa and a maternity hospital in Idlib. Every stop revealed the same truth: your support is changing lives.

In Damascus, David met with our team to review ongoing projects and chart plans to expand healthcare services across the country.
“Our team is growing, and so are our services. We’ve already reached all Syrian governorates—and we’re committed to doing even more. Together with SAMS’ 1,500 members, government partners, and local communities, I feel blessed to be part of this mission during such a critical time,” he said, reflecting on the dedication and resilience of the team.

In Daraa, he toured our Mobile Clinic and the region’s one-of-a-kind Oncology Center. There, he saw how our teams bring essential medical care directly to displaced families. “It’s gratifying to see our mobile medical team soften the plight of thousands in the south through compassionate, dignified care,” David shared. For many, these clinics are their only lifeline.

In Idlib, a delegation from the European Union, UNFPA, and WHO visited our Maternity Hospital to monitor operations and explore ways to strengthen collaboration. The visit highlighted SAMS’ critical role in providing safe births, emergency care, and support to communities affected by conflict.
These visits make one thing clear: SAMS is reaching families when and where they need it most — but we cannot do it without you. Your gift ensures that mobile clinics roll out, hospitals stay equipped, and medical teams can keep saving lives every day.
