About the Program

In Syria and neighboring countries, thousands of people live with disabilities caused by conflict or limited access to healthcare. SAMS’ Survivor Disability Program exists so that these children and adults can receive the therapy and support they need to live with strength and self-reliance.

The Strength to Stand

Mohammad’s Journey

“Mohammad was born with cerebral atrophy. At age two, he could not sit, walk, or control his limbs.

His family brought him to the Termanin Physical Therapy Center, where he began intensive sessions under the guidance of his therapist, Nour.

After a year and a half of persistence, Mohammad now walks on his own. His progress shows what determined families and accessible therapy can achieve.”

Raise Your Voice: Rayan’s Story

“Rayan Mashhal, 13, faced severe speech difficulties before joining the White Heart Center.

After six months of targeted therapy and daily support from her family, she began speaking more clearly and confidently. Her vocabulary grew, and she could form complete sentences.

Rayan’s journey shows how tailored therapy and family involvement can give children the ability to express themselves.”
