Help SAMS Build Hama’s First Oncology Center
This Ramadan, as families gather in warmth, reflection, and prayer, countless families across Syria are facing a battle that does not pause for sunset: cancer.
The holy month brings moments of peace and togetherness. But illness continues without interruption. A diagnosis does not wait. Pain does not pause. The need for treatment does not diminish. But neither does hope.
Last year, SAMS expanded that hope by opening new oncology and diagnostic centers in Daraa and Deir Ezzor, with a radiation and medical oncology center in Hama coming soon. For families who once traveled hours, sometimes days, seeking unaffordable treatment, care is now closer, accessible, and life-changing.
This Ramadan, we honor the courage of patients like Abdelhadi.
After being diagnosed with rectal cancer, fear filled his home. His children watched their father grow weaker as uncertainty loomed. But at Bab Al-Hawa Hospital, he began chemotherapy. Round after round, despite exhaustion, something began to change.
His pain eased. His appetite returned. His children saw him smile again. Today, his strength is coming back, and with every session, hope grows stronger than fear.
Abdelhadi’s story is a testament to what timely cancer care can do. It restores more than health. It restores dignity, stability, and the simple joy of being present with loved ones.
This Ramadan, your generosity can be the bridge between diagnosis and recovery. Together, we can ensure that a cancer diagnosis is not a death sentence simply because of where someone lives.
