Why 2024 Was a Turning Point
2024 was a year of transformation for SAMS—and for the communities we serve. With your support, we reached over 1.46 million people and delivered more than 4.4 million medical services across some of the most vulnerable regions in the world.
This year marked a historic expansion of our work inside Syria. For the first time, SAMS extended operations beyond northwest Syria into Damascus, Homs, Latakia, Daraa, and Aleppo—bringing high-quality, dignified care to areas long cut off by conflict. This bold step laid the foundation for our Syria Health 2030 initiative, a comprehensive vision to rebuild a sustainable, community-driven healthcare system for all Syrians.
Our teams also responded to escalating crises across the region. In Gaza, we provided emergency ICU support, maternal health services, and vital medical supplies under siege. In Lebanon, Jordan, and Türkiye, we offered mobile care, mental health services, and chronic disease support to refugees and host communities. And through our medical missions, we brought advanced surgical care and specialized expertise to patients who had nowhere else to turn.
Meanwhile, 4,015 healthcare professionals were supported and trained across our facilities, 144 clinics and hospitals were sustained, and over 22,000 safe deliveries were made possible—even in conflict zones.
These numbers tell only part of the story. Behind every statistic is a life changed—a child healed, a mother saved, a future restored. And it all happened because of you.
