Helping Hand: Supporting Youth Resilience in Jordan & Lebanon
Adolescents face unique challenges in displacement, anxiety, bullying, depression, and trauma. SAMS’ Helping Hand program offers group therapy, counseling, and community engagement to help youth build coping skills and resilience.
Jordan: 369 youth joined ten group sessions using cognitive behavioral techniques. 81% reported improved well-being and reduced symptoms. A free digital game also supports emotional expression through role play, journaling, and videos. Educators and social workers are trained to sustain the program and refer high-risk youth.
Lebanon: 900 adolescents and caregivers participated in awareness sessions, with 675 completing the full course. All showed at least a 30% improvement in psychological well-being. SAMS also delivered 240 counseling sessions and recruited 90 adolescents into a growing Peer Leadership Network that helps shape and expand the program.
