This January, SAMS launched its first medical mission of the year across Syria, reaching into the heart of northeast Syria, bringing lifesaving care to Ar Raqqa, Hasaka, and Deir Ez Zor, where displacement and fragile health services have left vulnerable communities with limited access to essential care.
In Ar Raqqa, SAMS is providing essential healthcare services to hard-to-reach populations and supporting 107 Pediatric Hospital staff to maintain critical services for children. Additionally, essential medicines are being procured, and a new Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Center will open this week, expanding access to essential psychosocial care.
In Hasaka, SAMS is keeping Al-Qahtaniyah Primary Health Care Center fully operational while assessing needs at Qamishli National Hospital and Amouda Hospital to guide urgent staffing and support.
In Deir Ez Zor, SAMS is delivering essential medications to Al-Mayadeen, Maternity and Children, and Al-Madina Hospitals, while supporting Albukamal Primary Health Care Center. Preparations are underway to establish an ICU and reinforce emergency and inpatient services to meet rising medical needs.
Thanks to your support, SAMS is expanding lifesaving care to the most vulnerable communities in northeast Syria.
