SAMS: Lifesaving Care, Led by Syrians
The Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS) is a global, Syrian-led humanitarian organization committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate healthcare to communities affected by conflict and crisis. Established in 1998 and expanded as a nonprofit in 2007, SAMS provides a full spectrum of care—from emergency surgeries and chronic disease management to mental health and psychosocial support. Guided by the vision of “Syrians helping Syrians,” SAMS works to restore health systems, empower frontline providers, and advocate for the protection of civilians and medical workers worldwide.
