Role Summary/Purpose:
Located within the Programs Department at SAMS Headquarters in support of the Sr. Business Development Officer and Sr. Program and Business Development Manager, the early career professional Business Development Coordinator is responsible for all administrative responsibilities within SAMS’ business development function. The Business Development Coordinator will support discrete proposal and concept note development tasks and will play a major role in donor landscaping and opportunity tracking.

Key Responsibilities:
New Business Development
- Maintain a comprehensive system for identifying new funding opportunities via public information sources and subscription-based funding databases,, and then review and collate all potential new funding opportunities for weekly internal information-sharing.
- Maintain donor engagement plans and coordinate system for regular review and updates.
- Record minutes of meetings and follow up on action items with assigned stakeholders.
- Lead concept-note and select donor proposal development processes.
- Support discrete proposal and concept note development tasks for complex bids such as but not limited to, technical writing (proposal and budget narrative), collaborating with country and specialty staff, developing supporting annexes as required by donors.
- Support and participate in all proposal after-action reviews.
- Maintain a repository of boilerplate language and templates for proposal components (program descriptions, MEAL narratives, organizational capacity statements, etc).
- Contribute data to measure progress against business development performance indicators, as outlined in business development strategy.
Program Administration
- Maintain complete and accurate filing system for all proposals submitted by HQ and country offices, utilizing the Amplifund Grant Management System
- Coordinate EOIs and contribute to due diligence requests from potential partners and donors, while noting that the HQ Contracts and Compliance Manager should be responsible for leading due diligence efforts through to completion.

Desired Education and Essential Skills
- University/Baccalaureate degree in related field required.
- 1-2 years of relevant work experience – preferably with an NGO, community-based organization, or funding organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to distill a large volume of source material from forecasts and other online resources into succinct actions.
- Demonstrated interest in securing new international development resources for conflict and/or post-conflict environments.
- Ability to work in a professional and cordial manner with fellow staff members, visitors, and partner institutions
- A multi-tasker with strong ability to work under pressure
- Ability to perform in cross-functional team approach
- Ability to prioritize work, meet deadlines and produce quality results on time with attention to detail
- Knowledge of the Arabic language and the Middle East region is strongly preferred.
