Role Summary:
The Membership Assembly Coordinator will be an integral part of SAMS’ HQ Membership team, led by the Membership Committee Board Leadership. Ideally, the Membership Assembly Coordinator will assist with all aspects of membership activities pertaining to the membership Assemblies and Committees as well as manage independent projects and portfolios. The overall goal of SAMS and its membership is to promote our lifesaving work providing dignified, high-quality medical care to some of the most vulnerable communities in Syria and surrounding countries. All activities pursued by the Membership Assembly Coordinator should support this primary goal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage WhatsApp Communities, ensuring only SAMS members are included.
- Support Assembly Leaders in organizing discussions, meetings, and announcements.
- Facilitate virtual meetings, mostly on weekends and evenings to accommodate physicians.
- Work with the Membership Committee to onboard new members into the correct Assembly.
- Provide technical and administrative support, tracking activity and engagement.
Key Qualifications:
- Expertise in membership database management (e.g., GrowthZone or similar software).
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Experience managing virtual communities or membership groups.
- Availability on weekends and evenings for meetings.
- Self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills.
- Healthcare or nonprofit experience is a plus.
- Experience meeting deadlines and managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Team player who gets along with people of various backgrounds and thrives in diverse environments
- Candidates with a proficiency in Arabic language and/or knowledge of MENA/Syria will have an advantage in seeking this role
