SAMS’s network of doctors in the United States frequently volunteer their services in medical and surgical mission trips to Lebanon to help provide medical care to Syrian refugees in need. Many of these medical missions coordinate with other organizations in Lebanon in order to best deliver the services needed to Syrian refugees. In 2015, medical missions to Bekaa Valley, Tripoli, Sidon, and Beirut treated 386 Syrian refugees. Medical workshops in Beirut trained 68 medical healthcare professionals.

In July 2016, SAMS’s mobile pediatric medical mission visited areas around Tripoli, Bekaa Valley, and Akkar in Lebanon to provide medical care to Syrian refugees. Dr. John Kahler, a pediatrician from Chicago, completed more than 300 consultations during his time on the mission. Additionally, SAMS Volunteers conducted cardiac catheterization with stents and cardiac echocardiography for Syrian refugees living in Bekaa Valley.
