Dear Fellow Humanitarian,

As part of our ongoing medical mission to Syria, Dr. Mufaddal Hamadeh, SAMS’ President, recently visited Idlib, where he stopped at the Termanin Physical Therapy Center, a facility offering vital speech rehabilitation services. During his visit, Dr. Hamadeh focused on selecting ten children with hearing loss for cochlear implant surgeries. This initiative comes at a time when there is a long waiting list of children in need, and treatment options are extremely limited.

Dr. Hamadeh explained that the selection process is based on precise medical criteria, including:

  • The child’s potential benefit from the surgery
  • The degree of hearing loss
  • The availability of family care
  • Other medical and social factors to ensure the best outcomes

This milestone reflects SAMS’ commitment to providing specialized care for children with hearing needs, improving their quality of life and empowering them to integrate more fully into society.

Your support is vital in transforming Syria’s healthcare system into one that is robust, equitable, and future-ready. Together, we are healing wounds and rebuilding lives and communities.
