Employment Definition: Part Time- Internship

Location and Duration of Position: Hybrid remote and in office, 6-month contract or one semester as needed for student

Proposed Salary/Wage: unpaid

Role Summary/Purpose: SAMS HQ Programs Department has transitioned to an electronic grants management system (GMS), AmpliFund. The Data Assistant Intern will work closely with the Program Manager and will be responsible for providing administrative and organizational support to build data in the new system. Through this role, the Data Assistant Intern will learn about the grants life-cycle, while having the opportunity to learn the programmatic details of SAMS’ work. SAMS has approximately 25 ongoing projects, and a historical database to import.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with data migration into AmpliFund by preparing Excel spreadsheets for importation and making manual adjustments in the system where needed
  • Preform compliance tasks such as reviewing project files to ensure all grant and programmatic and contracting documents are present, while following up for missing material as needed
  • Help with document importation into AmpliFund
  • Recording data for tracking payment requests and payments received
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • Help design the “Dashboard” feature in AmpliFund by building data visuals such as graphs and tables

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • University degree preferred, but not required
  • Interest in non-profit management
  • Exceptional planning and organizing skills, demonstrated ability to work independently, apply initiative and work under pressure to meet multiple and changing priorities, deadlines and objectives
  • Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication, and highly developed liaison and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge and experience of relevant software applications – spreadsheets, word processing and database management
